The Production Director Role
We're looking for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic leader who can run our Production team. This role is a maternity cover contract and would run for 9 months until June 2019.
We are looking for an experienced Production lead who has experience of collaborating with clients and internal teams and managing direct reports in terms of workload and personal development. The role is requires gravitas and experience to push for the best from all parties to achieve the design intention.
The Production team are responsible for the delivery of all the design work that leaves our studio, ensuring this meets the high standards that our clients have come to appreciate and expect. Working closely with the designers, account management team, our clients and external suppliers, the Production team will help provide the technical knowledge and problem-solving ability to deliver all projects, no matter what the deliverables may be.
The Production Director will oversee all the projects within the studio to ensure that projects are running smoothly and any potential issues are picked up and sorted as early as possible. As well as managing the technical support for tier own brands, the Production Director will provide guidance to the rest of the Production team ensuring you are always available.
As part of the wider role, the Production Director works with the wider studio to aid the smooth running of projects from start to release. Not only would you need to provide the general feasibility report of any designs which are shared with the client, but also work with the teams to determine the best way to approach certain projects and how we can deliver the work in the most cost and time effective manner.
Provide direction and set the standard for the rest of the team to follow.
Develop, manage and nurture the team to perform at the highest level.
Ensure that the production team works efficiently and effectively to deliver technical input to the day-to-day running of projects.
Work positively and effectively with other departments across the business in delivering work to the highest standards.
Collaborate with the other Heads of teams in Creative Operations (Head of Visualising, Head of Artwork, Head of Realisation, Head of Retouching) in order to work effectively as part of the wider team.
Confidence in dealing with clients and suppliers
Ability to lead and mentor a team
Print production knowledge
Knowledge of multiple packaging production techniques
Knowledge of website, app development and events production production an advantage
