We are looking for an enthusiastic, bi-lingual (Chinese and English) Senior Account Manager with experience in design to join our growing team.

The Role: Senior Account Manager

A key role in the agency and for clients, you will effectively manage the day-to-day running of projects, through the creative, conceptual and artwork stages. You will lead in-house and external resources and ensure deliverables are on time and within budget. As the first point of contact for you clients you will be responsible for building strong, dynamic relationships built on trust and outstanding client service.

The Senior Account Manager Purpose

Externally: To develop strong client relationships, through understanding of the brand and business challenges, anticipating client needs and effective project delivery across multiple workstreams, while proactively looking for growth opportunities.

Internally: Collaborates with internal teams, translating client opportunities into inspiring briefs, to get to the best creative output. Effectively manage project budgets, to ensure efficient use of time and resource across projects.

Reports to: Client Services Director

Client Relationships

Builds a client partnership mentality, always seeking to build connections between the client’s business needs and jkr

Proactive and responsive and constantly strives for excellent client service levels across the business

Anticipates client needs and pro-actively delivers solutions, always aiming to exceed expectations

Builds excellent relationships up to Marketing Director level

Digs for bigger opportunities behind client briefs, in line with the jkr business plan

Builds confidence and trust within the client base in order to grow client advocacy

Manages client expectation through ongoing dialogue to avoid surprises


Able to define creative questions for the brand (not just the question for design) and bring this to life for the Design team

Can spot, nurture and develop a great creative idea and articulate why it is right for the brand

Feels confident to defend great work to the client (doesn’t rely on the Design team to do this)

Constantly pushes for outstanding collaboration between departments to get to bigger, better work

Creative Delivery

Proactively looks for ways to drive efficiency through the jkr process to reduce cost and time to jkr

Works collaboratively with clients to support them in delivering their metrics and understands the role of jkr in achieving this

Commercial Acumen

Manages relationships and resources efficiently to maximise value to jkr and clients

Fully understands the commercial objectives of our clients and how that relates to the jkr business plan

Constantly seeks out greater opportunities beyond a client brief

Actively manages the movement in client forecasting and identifies opportunities to convert to fill the gap

Displays a high level of competency in effective negotiation

Inputs into annual client development plans and budgets


Clearly articulates clients’ insights, business and brand plans across the wider jkr team in order to inform and inspire briefs

Delivers strong client presentations and influences results

Communicates at all levels with confidence and clarity

Asks the right questions, challenging the client when appropriate

Able to adapt communication style to audience and situation, whilst always delivering a consistent message

Openly encourages collaborative ways of working and cross department communication and engagement

Listens actively and openly to the team and peer group

Brand Centricity

Demonstrates a strategic understanding of the client’s needs, their business, the category and what drives consumers and shoppers

Understands the role of the brand in the clients’ total business or portfolio in order to generate new briefs

Holds full knowledge of a clients’ long-term marketing plans and demonstrates an understanding of how these could translate into creative opportunities

Works with consumer and shopper insights to aid objectivity, inform briefs and aid strategic sell-in

Uses brand knowledge and insights to liberate creative execution

Acts as source of knowledge to the client, sharing latest thinking and best practices on design


Mentors, leads and inspires the jkr internal teams effectively and responsibly to manage situations to a positive outcome

Articulates and promotes jkr’s Design philosophy and delivers through day-to-day work

Displays integrity, honesty, reliability, responsiveness and openness to be trusted by clients and internal teams

Manages conflict, leaning into issues as they arise

Actively appreciates colleagues, clients and suppliers to recognise and reward great work


Must be fully bi-lingual (Chinese and English)

Experience in a top design or branding agency

3+ years of agency experience

Collaborative team worker

Great eye for detail and passionate about design
